Vidar della Spada - Introspective Perspective

4 minute read

We here at the Grimoire will be bringing the odd interest piece on random vampires of this fair city. It’s not enough just to bring the news, because that’s not all this city is about. It is also about the readers, you, the vampires that populate this dark underbelly of blood and hunger. So we’d like to introduce to you Vidar della Spada. The son of the legendary Moirai della Spada and brother to ~epona the former leader of The Church of Blood. We hope you enjoy learning more about this reasonably new, but fascinating vampire.

Who is Vidar della Spada? What you see is what you get. I’m just your basic, run of the mill ‘pire, your average fly by night kinda guy. I keep to myself for the most part, but am fairly easy to get along with.

You were in The Church of Blood for how long and doing what? For the better part of about nine months I was involved with the Church. For most of that time, I was training, building up my powers and gaining strength for whatever it would be needed for. I learned a lot about the ways of the city, who to watch out for, who to be wary of, that sort of thing.

As a member of The Church of Blood give us your impressions of it as a clan? I could sit here and tell you that the Church was far greater than any clan to have existed in this city. I could go on and on about how wonderful it was, about how there will never be another clan like it. It would be pointless though. Unless you have been a member, anything I could possibly say would be meaningless. Plus, what do I really have to compare it to? It’s not like I’ve been a member of a multitude of clans.

I will say this though - I would never trade the experience for anything.

I assume you were a part of the last squirmish between CoB and SIE. What was that like? Any snippets from that time you’d to share? Any little known piece of information you think the readers of this newspaper would be interested in knowing? Did you fall during that mini-war? I can honestly say it was better than my first experience with war. At least this time I was prepared. Well, more so than the first time. All in all, it was fun. Sure, there was the usual banter back and forth between sides, but when it came down to the action, it was a great deal louder than words from either side. There really isn’t anything special or interesting that happened. It was good times, as far as I’m concerned. Sure, I fell. A lot did. Can’t let that get you down, though. Sooner or later, it happens to everyone.

What in the world happened to EvilBill? That’s a good question. I wish I knew. My grandsire was not around while I was making my way through the ranks. He was asleep, from what I have been told. I never actually saw him, either. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was unlive and well somewhere, laughing at everyone. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a hand in all the chaos that’s been going on as well. You just never can tell.

Were you there when the Church of Blood went bang? No, I had no part in that. I didn’t know it was set to be demolished. I’m just glad that they waited until everyone was out of the building. At least, I think they did. But, who knows? Of course, from what little of the history that I did have time to browse, the Church was rebuilt from rubble once before.

What have you been doing since you found yourself a free agent? What has been going on in the unlife of Vidar della Spada? Mostly, I’ve been roaming the streets, hunting humans and just plain feeding. There’s not much going on in the city that’s worth getting involved in right now anyway. There is an interesting prospect, however, that I have been invited along with, but it’s not my place to discuss such things.

And the all important question for our readers what’s next, what does the future hold for Vidar della Spada? The same thing it holds for anyone - a lot of uncertainty. Where’s then next meal coming from, when’s the next time I’ll be called to arms, who against, all that is a mystery.

Chocolate or Vanilla? Mint Chocolate Chip

Middle Name? Hernando

O, A, B or AB? Depends on the meal of the night.

Age? 80

Sword or Dagger? Both

Vodka or Scotch? Is there really a choice? Scotch, a fine single malt with a French oak finish.

Thank You to Vidar della Spada for taking the time to answer these questions for the Grimoire. We are most appreciative of your personal perspective and look forward to seeing just what is on the horizon for this vampire.
