Feedback Guidelines

2 minute read

This evening the world has realised that it is possible to comment on articles published within the Ravenblack Grimoire. We are overjoyed about this, for the most part. The paper was always intended to be a collaborative effort with the community it serves.

However, we would like to issue some guidelines for the use of comments: Comments on articles must provide constructive criticism of the article that they relate to. No insulting or flaming of the paper or any of the contributors is permitted.

Those who have commented constructively this evening, and in future, will be given the right to moderate comments. When a comment is moderated, it is still accessible, but does not appear by default when the page is viewed. This allows the community to decide what constitutes constructive feedback and what doesn’t.

I don’t understand. I have seen many different views in the replies to editorials. I thought That I did give constructive criticism when i pointed investigative reporters to the RBB archives.

All users are now moderated for comments unless set to “trusted user” status - this was how I originally implemented the site. I relaxed this restriction 6 months ago in order to stimulate feedback, but now it is back. I am mostly an easy going person, but this place is turning into a zoo. I will not suppress criticism, but I will suppress abuse. Perhaps this will focus your minds a little.

Of those most critical of this publication, BloodGod stands out head and shoulders above the rest. You might want to take a few pointers from him on what constitutes constructive feedback.

Just remember this: I am not in the business of letting you fuckers whinge your little asses off. Go and do that somewhere else. If you have a valid comment, make it eloquently and coherently and I will publish it. If not, get lost.

BG, you are the pick of the bunch. However, this is not a democracy. I shall continue to publish the stories that I see fit. I shall attempt to make them as accurate as possible, but you can be sure that one or other of the involved parties will dislike what I have written, and frankly, I could not give a hoot for the most part.

This is not some kind of free for all forum. It is still a publication. The content of the stories is not negotiable. But I may choose to take on board some of the criticism.
